This Bookkeeping Services Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into as of [Effective Date] between [Bookkeeper Name] ("Bookkeeper") and [Client Name] ("Client").
Bookkeeper will perform the following services (the "Services"): [Description — e.g. transaction categorization, bank reconciliation, monthly financial statements] using [Software/Platform]. Services outside this description, including tax preparation or filing, are not included unless separately agreed.
Client agrees to pay a monthly fee of [Amount], or [Rate] per hour, due within [Number] days of invoicing.
Client will provide Bookkeeper with the access needed to perform the Services (e.g. read-only or accountant-level access to accounting software and bank feeds). Bookkeeper agrees to use this access solely to perform the Services.
Bookkeeper agrees to keep all of Client’s financial information confidential, both during and after this Agreement, and to use it solely to perform the Services.
Bookkeeper will deliver [Description of Reports — e.g. a monthly profit & loss statement and balance sheet] by [Day] of the following month, based on records and information timely provided by Client.
Bookkeeper is not a licensed CPA or attorney (unless separately stated) and does not provide tax preparation, tax filing, or legal advice under this Agreement. Client should consult a licensed professional for those matters.
Bookkeeper is an independent contractor, not an employee of Client, and is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and benefits.
Bookkeeper’s services depend on the accuracy and completeness of records and information provided by Client. Each party’s total liability under this Agreement is limited to the total fees paid or payable in the [Number]-month period before the claim arose.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of [State / Jurisdiction].
